Homemade Strawberry Leather Rolls

Harnessing the natural sweetness of strawberries, these Homemade Strawberry Leather Rolls are a fun and healthy treat that both kids and adults will love. Making your own fruit leather at home is surprisingly simple and gives you full control over the ingredients, ensuring a wholesome snack without any artificial additives. Perfect for on-the-go snacking or a tasty lunchbox surprise, these strawberry leather rolls offer a burst of fruity flavor in every bite.

Ingredients -

- 3 cups of sliced strawberries

- 1 tablespoon lemon juice

- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (maple syrup for vegan option)

Instructions -

1. Preheat your oven to 150°F (60°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper or use a silicone baking mat (Silpat) for best results.

2. In a food processor or blender, puree the strawberries, lemon juice, and honey or maple syrup until smooth.

3. Pour the strawberry mixture onto the prepared baking tray. Spread it evenly, aiming for a thickness of about 1/8 inch. It’s important not to make it too thick, as it will reduce in volume during the dehydration process. However, avoid spreading it too thinly, as it may burn or rip when trying to remove from the parchment paper.

4. Place the tray in the oven and dehydrate for 6-8 hours. The exact time may vary depending on the thickness of your spread. Don’t worry if it takes longer; just keep checking the center of the mat to ensure it’s no longer sticky to the touch.

5. Once done, remove the tray from the oven and let it cool. Using scissors, cut the leather along with the parchment paper into strips. Roll them up to form strawberry leather rolls.

6. Store the strawberry leather rolls in an airtight container to maintain freshness. They can last for several weeks if kept in a cool, dry place.

Enjoy your Homemade Strawberry Leather Rolls as a delightful, chewy snack that packs a punch of strawberry flavor. This recipe is not only a great way to use up excess strawberries but also ensures you have a healthy snack on hand whenever you need a sweet treat.
