Flaky and Sweet - A delicious twist on puff pastry braids filled with creamy Nutella

Nutella Puff Pastry Braids
These Nutella Puff Pastry Braids are a heavenly treat, combining the buttery flakiness of puff pastry with the rich, creamy goodness of Nutella. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or as a snack, these braids are not only delicious but also visually stunning. The best part? They’re made with just two simple ingredients, making them incredibly easy to whip up whenever you're craving something sweet. The braiding technique gives them a beautiful appearance, making them a great choice for entertaining or treating yourself to a quick, yet impressive, dessert!
Ingredients -
1 lb puff pastry (500 gr)
1/2 cup Nutella (150 gr)
1 egg, beaten
Instructions -
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). On a parchment-lined baking sheet, spread out the puff pastry sheet. Generously and evenly spread Nutella over one half of the puff pastry sheet, then fold the sheet over the Nutella-covered half, tucking in the edges.
Using a very sharp knife or a pizza cutter, cut 1-inch (2 cm) strips horizontally. Then, make one vertical cut down the middle, effectively cutting all the strips in half.
Take three strips and gently stretch them out. Place them side by side with a small gap between them. Begin braiding: take the right strip and place it over the middle strip (the right strip now becomes the middle). Next, take the left strip and place it over the middle strip (the left strip now becomes the middle). When you reach the middle of the braid, turn the braid around and continue braiding, but this time pass the side strips underneath the middle strip instead of over it. Pinch the ends together and gently fold them underneath. Repeat with all strips.
Brush the braids with the beaten egg and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crisp. Enjoy!
Enjoy these Nutella Puff Pastry Braids warm for the best flavor and texture. They’re perfect for any occasion, whether you're hosting a brunch, satisfying a sweet craving, or sharing with friends and family. Happy baking!
